Margaret Bassett, 78
Former floor supervisor for Amram Manufacturing
Margaret "Pearl" Bassett (Higgins), 78, of Millville died Monday evening, Oct. 4, 2004, at home, with her family by her side after a brief illness. Born and raised in Asheville, N.C., she has been a Millville resident since 1955. She had worked as a floor supervisor for Amram Manufacturing in Vineland. Prior to that, she had worked as a weaver for Aston Textiles in Millville. She enjoyed country music, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Pete and wife Betsey of Leesburg, Winkle and Jr., both of Laurel Lake; one daughter, Margaret Lupperger and husband Frankie of Millville; three brothers, Bill, Pat and Ronald Higgins, all of North Carolina; one sister, Kay McLaughlin of North Carolina; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Bassett; one daughter, Sandra Derby; and three sisters, Geneve Rogers, Clara Treadway, and Marie Bradley. Services will conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cumberland United Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to South Jersey Healthcare Community Services, 2848 S. Tracie Jean Bassett
Tracie Jean Bassett, 35, of Smyrna, Tenn., and formerly of Millville, died on Saturday, in Tenn. From injuries sustained in an accident.
Tracie was born in Vineland, N.J., and grew up in the Millville area. She attended Millville Senior High School, and graduated in 1990. Prior to moving to Tenn., she had worked for L.J. Zucca Distributors, in Vineland, N.J.
She is survived by father, William “Bill” Bassett, of Laurel Lake; daughter, Jenna McNulty, of Millville; brother, William Bassett, of Millville; stepbrother, Joe Bassett, of Millville; sister, Amy Bassett, of Millville; stepsister, Tara Bassett, of Millville; great-grandmother, Mary Jean Burns, of Millville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Tracie was predeceased by her mother, Bonnie Burns Bassett.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church, of Millville, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
