Mary R. Bessette
1925-2005
CHICOPEE – Mary R. (Bergeron) Bessette, 79, of Chicopee, died on Monday, February 28, 2005 at Birch Manor Nursing Home in Chicoepe. She was a retired cashier at Art’s Variety in Chicopee. Mary was born on October 31, 1925 in Alburgh, VT, she lived in Springfield and in Chicopee for the past twenty seven years. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Dora (Loucher) Bergeron. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. Mary is predeceased by a sister, Blanche Leroux. She is survived by three sons, Gordon Bessette, Jr. of Chicopee, Andrew Bessette of Burlington, VT and Steven Bessette of Springfield; seven daughters, Catherine Gurney of Cape Coral, FL, Dorren Durak of Ludlow, Nancy Gree, Donna Morris, Mary Asslein and Susan Heroux, all of Chicopee and Paula Root of North Carolina; two brothers, Andrew Bergeron of Connecticut and David Bergeron of Vermont; a sister, Diane Couture of Texas; twenty one grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday, march 4, 2005 at 9 am from the Cierpail Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St., in the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, followed by a Litergy of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church at 10 am. The burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours are on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Cierpial Funeral Home.
