Bassett, 81, of 1534 Scott Street, died at 12:07 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 1973, in the Williamsport Hospital. She was taken to t hospital in the city ambulance at 10:30 a.m. Saturday after being stricken at her home. She was born July 29, 1891, in Grover, Bradford County, a daughter of B. Frank and Jane Fields Jones. Mrs. Bassett was a member of the Newberry Church of Chris She was also a member of the auxiliary of Royal P. Steinbacher American Legion Post 617, South Williamsport. Mrs. Bassett was a Gold Star War Mother. She was retired as a housekeeper at Lycoming College. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mildred J. Price, with whom she lived, Mrs. Louella E. Ulmer, of Williamsport RD 2, and Mrs. Edna A. McHenry, of Williamsport RD 1; a son, Howard T., of Watsontown RD 2; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Bower of this city, 18 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchlidre The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders’, 821 Diamond Street, with the Rev. James P. Wilkins, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Beech Flats Cemetery, near Canton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
