Francis E. Bessette
BENNINGTON, Vt. ? Francis E. Bessette of 206 School St., father of Mrs. William (Loretta) Brownell of White Creek, N.Y., died unexpectedly June 4 at his residence.
Born in Burlington on Dec. 20, 1920, he was the son of George Bessette and the former Celestia Lessor. His education was received in Boston, Mass. On Aug. 29, 1952 he married the former Laurette Pidgeon in Pocono, Pa.
Mr. Bessette was employed in earlier years at the McKenzie Meat Packing Co. in Burlington.
Survivors besides his wife and daughter include another daughter, Mrs. Kathy Stell of Bennington; six grandchildren; four sisters, Celestia Boyer of Pennsylvania, Rita Denno of Essex Junction, Rosalie Langeven of Grand Isle, and Fredericka Clark of Virginia; four brothers, George of St. Albans, Lawrence and Richard, both of Burlington, and Franklin of South Burlington.
The funeral was held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home Friday morning with the Rev. Jerry Miller, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. The hymn ?Beyond the Sunset? was offered. Burial followed at Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek.
Bearers were Michael Harrington, Kenneth Harrington, Ernest Bolster and Richard Cross.
