      Mr. Thomas Bassett

      Mr. Thomas Bassett, one of the oldest resident of the Roebourne district, passed away on Friday night, following a stroke which occurred early in the evening. Deceased arrived her about 69 years ago at the age of two years, and had been in the district ever since. He was one of the original drivers of the mail coach plying between Roebourne, Condon, and Marble Bar, and at one time owned Kangan station. A masonic funeral was accorded deceased, he being one of the first members of the Harding Lodge.

      I, Thomas Henry Bassett, single, now residing in Roebourne, in the district of Roebourne, do hereby give notice that it is my intention to apply at the next Licensing Meeting to be holden for this district for a Publican?s General License, for the sale of Liquor, in the house and appurtenanc3es thereunto belonging, situated in Shool-street, containing one billiard room, one dining room, one sitting room, and nine bedrooms, exclusive of those required by myself, now licensed under the sign ?Commercial Hotal,? and which I intend to keep as an Inn or Public House.
