Mr. Nathaniel Bassett
A native of Semmes Chapel, AL, and a resident of Daphne, AL, born April 19, 1918 departed this life on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 in a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Rebecca Montgomery) Bassett, a grandson, Freddie L. Cooley, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Lettie Mae Cooley, Fort Worth, TX, Mary Bassett Eaton and Annie Ruth Watts, both of Prichard, AL; two sons, Nathaniel Kirksey, Prichard, AL, and Nathaniel Douglas, Inkster, MI; one devoted son-in-law, Freddie L. Cooley, Sr., Fort Worth, TX; two devoted friends, Shirley Bickham and Clara McKaskill; nine grandchildren, Nathaniel Cooley, Aletha Cooley, Reginald (Jauna) Bassett, Annette Bassett, Amanda Bassett, Charlotte Watts, Antonio Watts, Candice Kirksey and Amber Kirksey; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from the New Liberty Park Baptist Church on Saturday, April 7, 2001 from 9:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral hour with Rev. Cleophus Pair, Pastor officiating minister. Interment will follow in the Lawn Haven Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by REESE FUNERAL HOME, 925 Bessemer Ave., Prichard, AL.
