      Isaac Sylvinus Bassett Obituary

Isaac Sylvinis Bassett was born on March 1, 1857 near Buck Creek, Tippecanoe county, Indiana, and passed from this life April 15, 1936, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 15 days.
He was united in marriage to Jane Hewgent on November 13, 1881. To this union was born one son, Oscar S. Bassett, with whom he has made his home since the death of his wife five years ago.
He, with his wife, united with the Christian church early in life, to which they were faithful workers as long as their health permitted.
The greater part of his life was spent in farming, but later, as his friends remember, he took up well repair work, from which he was forced to retire six years ago due to the loss of sight and ill health.
He had one brother, Ira Bassett, who preceded him in death twelve years ago. Left to mourn his departure are his son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bassett of Morocco, four grandchildren, Harold Bassett of Syracuse, Dorothy Tagg of Fowler, Raymond and Maxine of Morocco, one great grandchild, Kathryn Louise Tagg of Fowler, one brother, Will Bassett of Beaver City, one half brother, Adolphus Howell of Momence, Illinois, several nieces and nephews, besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Morocco Christian church last Friday afternoon by Rev. O.O. Uncapher, pastor of the United Brethren Church.
