  Notes	2 Dec 1965, Roy Bassett WATERBURY - Roy Bassett, 69, died Thursday evening at his ho South Main Street following a long illness. He was born Sept. 17, 18 Smyrna, N.Y., the son of Warren and Amelia Fox Bassett. In May of 19 married Margaret McGookin in Shady Rill, Middlesex, VT. He came to Waterbury from Moscow 8 years ago where he had been a merchant and post master. He was a real estate dealer here. Bassett was a veteran of WW1, a member of the Harry N. Cutting Post 59 American Legion, the Mystic Lodge of Masons 56 of Stowe, the Mt. Sinai Shrine Temple AAONMS of Montpelier. He leaves his wife and a son Robert Howard of Richford, VT. Calling hours will be held at the local chapel Saturday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the chapel with Rev. John Nutting of Congregational Church of Hyde Park officiating. Entombment will be in Hope Vault. The Perkins Parker Funer Chapel in charge of arrangements.
