Brooker Bassett, 15, Is Claimed By Death
Spencer Brooker Bassett, 15, injured March 22 in an automobile at Tyrone bridge in Anderson county, died at 3:15 o?clock yesterday afternoon at the Good Samaritan hospital.
Young Bassett?s death brought to four the number injured fatally when an automobile in which they were riding plunged over a 200-foot embankment at the Anderson-side approach to the bridge. A fifth occupant of the car escaped with minor injuries.
Bassett was born in Lexington, a son of J. Edward and Jane Brooker Bassett Jr. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, J. Edward Bassett III; his paternal grandfather, J. Edward Bassett, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. H.S. Brooker.
The body was removed to the W.R. Milward mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o?clock Monday morning at the residence, ?Old Hickory,? on the Paris pike. The Rt. Rev. H.P. Almon Abbott, bishoip of the Episcopal diocese of Lexington, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. A.W. Fortune, pastor of the Central Christian church. Interment will take place in the Lexington cemetery.
