- RHODA BASSETT BROWN BAKERSFIELD
Mrs. Rhoda Bassett Brown, L.P.N., 76, a longtime resident of this area, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at her home. She was born in Siotaville, Ohio, on Jan. 9, 1924, the daughter of Noah A. and Charlotte (Bolander) Bassett. She was the widow of Andrew B. Brown Sr., who died March 30, 1999. Rhoda was a licensed practical nurse employed by the Franklin County Home Health Agency. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Northfield and St. Albans. Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Sue Langreich of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight sons, Andrew B. Jr. and Sandra Brown of Fairax, Warren Lee Brown of Bakersfield, Walter Dee Brown of Bakersfield, Charles Dean and Patricia Brown of Orangevale, Calif., Gregory Alan and Dale Brown of Fairfield, Carlton Arthur Brown, PE, of Sacramento, Calif., Dr. Jerry Lynn Brown, PE, and his friend, Sue Brown, of Bakersfield, and Noel Dewayne and Maureen Brown of Bakersfield; seven grandchildren, Ian Urban and his wife, Carla, Danielle Urban, Stephanie Brown, Charles D. Brown II, Courtney Brown, Megan Brown, Bailey Brown, and Jean and Russell Paterek; two great-grandchildren, Tegan Chawla and Gregory Sweet; a sister, Violet Jacobsen; a brother, Noah Bassett and his wife, Dee; two half brothers, Robert Bassett and his wife, Jean, and Donald Bassett and his wife, Marlene; stepbrother Francis "Whitey" Sellers and his wife, Agnes; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dennis Hayward will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bakersfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Country Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Health Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.
