Oxnard - Estella M. Bassett
Estella M. Bassett age 89 of Oxnard passed away Tuesday Nov. 17, 1998 in Newbury Park after a five-year illness.
Estella was born Feb. 19, 1909 in Brockport, N.Y. and had been a Ventura County resident for 26 years coming from Brockport, N.Y. She was a retired professor at Moorpark College. Estella was active in church community and philanthropy. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and International Honorary Group of Educators.
She is survived by her sisters Loretta Bassett Russell of Lagune Hills and Philma Bassett Cooley of Hamlin N.Y.; brother Leo F. Bassett of Newton, Mass.; numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; great-great-nieces; and great-great-nephews.
Memorial Mass will be held at Santa Clara Catholic Church at a later date. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Brockport, N.Y.
Memorial donations may be made to Mary Health of the Sick 2929 Theresa Drive Newbury Park CA 91320. Arrangements are under the direction of James A. Reardon Mortuary Oxnard.
