Eulene Martha Bassett
Pisgah Forest - Eulene Martha Perry Bassett, 72, of 1292 Old Hendersonville Hwy., passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of her life, she retired from Mountain City Laundry, following 30 years of service. Mrs. Bassett was a daughter of the late Charles and Maggie Arville Shipman Perry, and widow of Billy James Bassett, who passed away in 1976. Surviving are her children, Billy Ann Bassett and fiance, Robbie Corn, both of Pisgah Forest, James Allen Bassett, of Brevard, Ruby Moore and husband, Bruce, of Magnolia, Texas, and Jack Carroll Bassett, of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret P. Hughes, of the home; brother, Glen Williams, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and half-sister, Marylyn Burgess, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. A memorial service and receiving of friends will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the home of Genny Melton, Bower Lane, Fletcher (696-4945).
