Karen Marie Bassett
Karen passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at her home, age 72. She was born November 3, 1949 in Bay City to the late Leonard W. and Germaine (Soitz) Bassett. She worked at Bay Medical Center for many years as a Laboratory Clerical Supervisor and then went on to work for Covenant Healthcare in their Finance Department. Karen enjoyed watching sports on TV and day time TV shows as well. She loved spending time with her family as much as possible and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her brother Leonard E. Bassett, one uncle Floyd Dryzga, special cousin Lisa Dryzga and many other cousins and dear special friends, Patricia Luczak-Dinsmore and Agnes Wlock. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Germaine, grandparents: Joseph and Marie (Nowak) Soitz, Edward and Maude Bassett, aunts and uncles: Fidalis (Richard) Roberts, Dorothy (James) Carney, Hazel (John) Sologar, Wanda (Kenneth) Ayotte, Floyd (Sadie) Bassett and Ernest (Sue) Bassett, Loretta (Louis) Kozak, Lucille Dryzga, Beatrice (Kenneth) McFarland and Jeanette (Leonard) Prell.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Parish-St. James Church. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will celebrate Mass and private entombment will be in St. Patrick Mausoleum. Family and friends will gather at the church only on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Due to the rise in Covid cases, Karen's family would kindly ask that everyone please wear a mask while at her visitation and Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the "Wishes of the Family" in care of Leonard Bassett. www.ambrosefuneralchapel.com.
