(Bessett) Gauthier, 87, of 45 Lower Westfield Road, a Spalding golf department employee, died Friday at a local nursing home. Born in Holyoke, she was a graduate of Holyoke High school, a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a longtime South Hadley resident, prior to moving to Holyoke. Her husband, Maurice F. Gauthier, died in 1988. She leaves two sons, Donald A. of South Hadley and Roger P. of Fairview; three daughters, Barbara Seiffert of Fairview, Eunice Davis of Blue Ridge, Ga., and Cassandra Heroux of Chicopee; two sisters, Lorraine Huber and Leona Leveille, both of Holyoke, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Phyllis McNamera, died in 1994. The funeral is Monday morning at Ryder Funeral Home and in the church, with burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday afternoon and evening, and memorial contributions may be made to Holyoke Geriatric Authority, 45 Lower Westfield Road, Holyoke, 01040.
