Born June 30 th , 1930, in Ambia, Indiana to Clarence and Nancy Bassett, she was the seventh of nine children. She married Tom Ramsey on June 20th, 1948. In June of 1962, she, Tom and their three boys settled in Red Bluff, CA, where she served as a deputy tax collector in the Assessor's office before joining the Department of Water Resources where she worked until her retirement, finishing as Chief of the Administrative Branch. Claris is survived by her husband, Tom, her sister Mickey, three sons, Jim (Eileen), George, and Gary (Rita), six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
