Doris Bassett
Doris L. Bassett, age 88 of Marine, IL, died Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Cedarhurst of Highland in Highland, IL.
She was born on Monday, August 12, 1935, in Marine, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (nee Prott) Loos.
On Saturday, February 27, 1954, she married H. L. Bassett at Marine, Illinois, who passed away on Saturday, June 4, 1988.
She was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine, Marine, IL; Madison County Homemaker Home Extensions, Single Connections, several bowling leagues, Marine Historical Society and TOPS KOPS, Troy, IL.
Mrs. Bassett was a life long resident of Marine, IL. She had attended Marine Grade School, Troy Grade School, Edwardsville Junior High School, and Highland High School, graduating in 1953. She worked for Marine Garment Factory as payroll clerk and then worked for SIUE as an administrative assistant for 26 years. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and traveling with her friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at United Church of Christ of Marine in Marine, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at United Church of Christ of Marine in Marine, IL, Rev. Philip Kershner, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Edwardsville, IL.
