He was born Dec. 31, 1939, in Brazil. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Mount Baker. He was honorably discharged in 1963. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother, Carrie Bass of Chicago; one daughter, Rochelle Bass of Portland, Ore.; and one brother, Curtis Bass of Danville, Ill., and other extended family. At the request of the deceased his body will be cremated and his ashes buried at Cottage Hill Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
