Aaron Philbert Bass Jr, born on May 24, 1972, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was one of two sons born from the union of the late Aaron P. Bass, Sr. and Yvonne Patillo. Aaron mentored his brother, David, at an early age, teaching him many life lessons. Oftentimes, David fought to be the favorite son; he wanted braces just because Aaron had them. He knew Aaron the best, as they were each other's best friend.

Aaron was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. His trade, Auto Mechanics, led him into his fifteen year career at Athelas Institute, in Columbia, MD, as a Maintenance Transportation Coordinator. He had high regard for the owner, the late Mr. Raymond Jordan, who mentored him professionally and personally. He taught him negotiation skills, which gave opportunities to grow making business decisions in acquisitions of company vehicles. It was the first time Aaron felt trusted and given free rein to bounce back. Athelas was his second chance to right some of his wrongs; he took great pride in being able to teach and mentor the clients. He was greatly loved by his peers. He offered support clients and staff. He loved working with tools. He loved football, and the family enjoyed watching his reactions, and going over stats with him after the games. If it was not for football, it was the Westerns, which everybody in the house had to watch with him. Aaron and Shunda Johnson, his fiancee and best friend, spent hours playing cards and watching Westerns together. They frequently played challenging games, which he won, because he changed the rules midstream. Aaron loved his beautiful daughters Alagra and Aiyna, and most recently became a grandfather to his granddaughter Sevyn; the best moment of his life. His girls made everything right for him. Aaron was very fond of his collection of flashlights, lighters, knives and swords. And he enjoyed playing pool and eating. He ate ice cream and cake almost every night. Aaron loved God and often worshipped in congregation at Providence Baptist Church, where he was baptized and a member.

Aaron was very family-oriented. He enjoyed spending quality time one-on-one. He grew up close knit with his cousins, Skip, Toiya, Ammerah, Scott, Na'im, Atiya, Sam, Reecy, Traci, to name a few. His relationship was unique to each one.

Aaron leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother and stepfather, Yvonne and James Patillo; two precious daughters Alagra and Aiyna, and granddaughter, Sevyn; brother and sister-in-law, David and Danyell; step-sister, Sharon Patillo; fiancee, Shunda Johnson, and her sons Robert LeGrand IV and DaeSean Timmons; aunts: Nadiyah Johnson (Tyrone), Penny Burrell (Reginald), Carlene Cheek (William), and Juernene Chippy; uncles: Tyrone Day (Karen), Derrick Day (Darlene), Earl Day, Gold Bass, and Keith Bass; nieces: Courtney and Alicia; nephews: Everett, Daelin, Carter, and Cayden; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
