Mrs. Edythe H. Hayden Lowrie, 88, of Linden
Retired Secretary, 50 years in Highlands
Edythe H. (Hayden) Lowrie, 88, of Linden, N.J., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at the Delaire Nursing Home, Linden.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, from 6 to 9 p.m., with the funeral services at 8 p.m., at the Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 E. Born in Plainfield, N.J., Mrs. Lowrie lived in Highlands, N.J. for 50 years and the past seven years in Linden.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Highlands.
She was a secretary for Meredith Associates in Red Bank, N.J., for 10 years, retiring in 2000. Prior to that, she was a secretary for Fort Monmouth Army Base in Eatontown, N.J., for 25 years, retiring in 1988.
She loved the Jersey Shore, was an avid reader and knitter, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lowrie was the beloved wife of the late Albert Joseph Lowrie Jr.; devoted mother of Edward Lowrie of Linden; Susan Noviello of Woodbridge, N.J.; Margaret Lowrie of Linden and Jon Lowrie of Whiting, N.J.; loving sister of the late Grace, and cherished grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 21.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, Tenn. 38101-9950 would be appreciated.
