Gravestone. MARRIAGE: This is the Nelly CHRISWELL who married James CLACKTON on 25 OCT 1827 per Henry Co KY marriage records. Marriage records show father to be David CHRISWELL. BURIAL: Gravestone in Carter Cemetery (3 mile north of Gratz Ky on hwy 355, R. Fitzgerald farm) shows born 1805, died 1858. Next to grave of James Claxon showing b. 1805, d. 1884 (but husband James b. 1805/6, d. 1843). Gravestone info from transcription made by Sandy Smith. BIOGRAPHY: DEEDS 1844, 14 Aug, Eleanor Claxon, one of the children and heirs of David Criswell dec'd, and John C. Bates, sold their undivided interest in 298 acres on Six-Mile Creek of which David Criswell died possessed to Joel Clubb for $100 (to Eleanor) and $217.35 (to John Bates). Bates' interest acquired from Will and David Criswell, Jan 1844 (Henry Co deed book 21, p. 61). 1871, Ellen Claxon estate sold 1/5 interest in 108 acres to Levi Jones (Owen Co. Deed Book V, p 41).
