Doris A. Cote
Doris A. Cote, 76 Floral designer from Granby leaves son in Sandwich
GRANBY - Doris A. (Bessette) Cote, 76, who leaves family on the Cape, died Monday at her home.
She was the wife of Rene A. Cote, who died in 1997.
Born in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, Mrs. Cote also lived in Fairview before moving to Granby 43 years ago. She worked as a floral designer for 10 years at the former Gay's Florist and Bridal Shop in Chicopee Falls and more recently at Green Thumb Gardens in Willimansett.
Mrs. Cote was a member of the Fairview American Legion Post No. 438 Women's Auxiliary, a volunteer for the Granby Council on Aging and coordinated many senior bus trips in the local area.
She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granb a member of its Ladies Sodality Women's Club.
Surviving are three sons, Roger R. Cote of Sandwich, and Wayne P. Cote and Bruce W. Cote, both of Granby a daughter, Renee-Anne Desmarais of Belchertown a brother, Donald Bessette of Granby and 13 grandchildren.
The funeral will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow from the Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Willimansett section of Chicopee, with a Mass at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, West State Street (Route 202), Granby. Burial is in West Cemetery, Granby.
Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
