Wircinger-Bessette Wedding Saturday
West Springfield Girl Will Marry Agawam Man at Church
Numbered among Saturday’s weddings will be that of Miss Alice Ann Wircinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wirclinger of Heywood avenue, West Springfield, and Evariste D. Bessette, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Bessette of Tower terrace, North Agawam. The ceremony will be held at 8.30 at the Immaculate Conception church, and will be followed by a wedding breakfast and reception at the Wircinger home. Rev. John J. O’Connell, pastor, will perform the ceremony and celebrate the nuptial mass. Miss Stella Wise, church organist, will play the wedding music.
Mrs. Helen Fay Plant, sister of the bride-elect will be her only attendant, and Rolland Bessette, brother of the groom, will be best man.
The couple will leave during the afternoon for a trip to New York and Atlantic City, N.J., and upon their return will make their home at 100 Heywood avenue, West Springfield.

Evariste D. Bessette
Evariste D. Bessette, 55, of 100 Haywood Ave., West Springfield, died Wednesday in Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Born in Agawam on July 7, 1910, he was the son of Mrs. Arcelia (Gauthier) Bessette of Agawam and the late Moise Bessette. He made his home in West Springfield for the past 33 years. He was employed at the Springfield Armory for 36 years, retiring in December of last year. He was employed at the time of his death at the Springfield Safe Deposit and Trust Co. He was secretary of the Armory 20-Year Club and was a member of the board of directors of the Springfield Armory Credit Union and former secretary of the Memorial Avenue Men’s Club. He was a communicant at the Immaculate Conception Church, West Springfield. Besides his mother, he leaves his wife, Mrs. Alice (Wircinger) Bessette; a son, Allan of Feeding Hills; two sisters, Mrs. Audette Benjamin and Mrs. Edyth Coughlin, both of Agawam; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at Curran-Jones funeral home Friday morning at 8 with a libera service in Immaculate Conception Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, West Springfield. Visiting hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A solemn requiem high mass will be celebrated at 7.30 a.m. on the 16th at Immaculate Conception Church.
