Bessette, 62, of 53 High St., West Springfield, died Monday in the Medical Center of Western Massachusetts after a long illness. Born in Agawam, he lived in West Springfield about 25 years. He was employed as a lithographer 24 years at Diamond Match Co., Springfield. He was a member of Hampden County Musicians Union, Local 171, the Graphic Arts International union, Local 264, and St. Thomas Church. He leaves his wife, Marie (Vanesse) Bessette, a son, Roy D. of Agawam, two daughters, Mrs. Joan Hastings of West Springfield, and Mrs. Jean Gamblin of Houston, Texas., two brothers, a sister and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday at Curran-Jones funeral home followed by a liturgy of Christian burial in St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
