Roger Bassett

Roger Bassett, beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025 at the Joe Raso Hospice House. Born in Staten Island, New York, Roger lived a full and joyful life enriched by the people and activities he loved most.
For many years, Roger made his home at Camp Venture, where he was surrounded by his Venture Together family. He took great pride in his work at the Rockland County Clerk's Office, where he dedicated 15 years of service.
Roger had a zest for life that was felt by everyone who knew him. He loved bowling, horseback riding, and had a deep affection for all animals. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting the casino-where he was known for his luck at the slots and his cheerful spirit. Above all, Roger treasured spending time with his family, whose visits brought him immense happiness.
Roger is survived by his sister, Geri Bell, and many loving nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the joy he brought to every moment.
May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
