Cynthia ?Cindy? Mitchell Bassett
Cynthia Mitchell Bassett, 75, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Born December 5, 1949, in Lansing, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Edward Mitchell and Marion (nee Luttman) Mitchell.
Cindy was a graduate of Stoneleigh-Burnham School, Class of ?67, and went on to graduate from Albright College, Class of ?03. She worked for the Hotel Hershey, becoming a Legacy Employee for her 30 years of service before retiring. After Cindy retired, she worked as a lunch lady at her grandsons? elementary school.
She was a proud supporter of the Arts and Humanities and was an advocate for non-profit animal services. Above all, she loved spending time with her cherished family and friends. She especially loved being ?Gram? to her two little guys. Cindy was a member of Stoneleigh-Burnham Alumni, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Friends of Hershey Public Library.
She leaves behind her sons, Matt Alander (wife Toni) of Cincinnati, OH, and Sean Bassett (wife Genevieve) of Ridgecrest, CA; her daughters, Brittany Raess (husband Jason) of Harrisburg, PA, and Lindsay Bassett (husband Tim Garside) of Philadelphia, PA; and her beloved grandsons, William and Edward Alander of Cincinnati, OH, and Jackson and Sullivan Raess of Harrisburg, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Pierce.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, 2PM, at Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, Inc., 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home for a time of visitation from 1PM-2PM.
