George Ray Casper (Picture included)
George Ray Casper 88, of Stockton, CA was born in Concord, North Carolina and lived in Charlotte, NC until moving to Stockton in 1978. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Bassett Casper. Survivors include sons Steven Casper and wife Susan of Charlotte, Edward Casper of Stockton, and close friend Susan Krinberg of Stockton. He served in the Navy 1945-1947 and attended Kings College in Charlotte NC where he met his wife Mary. He was employed by 3M Media in Charlotte and Stockton retiring in 1990 when he began volunteering with seniors through the San Joaquin County Ombudsman program, San Joaquin County Commodity Program, the RSVP program, and the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging. He received numerous recognition for his dedication and commitment including a President's Call to Service Award in 2005. Ray was still active with these programs at his time of death.
Services Saturday Aug 13th at 10 AM St Andrews Lutheran Church, Stockton CA. Burial services to be held at St John's Lutheran Church in Mt Pleasant, NC through Gordon Funeral Home.
