Miss Ziegler Plans Rites on August 1
Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Jayne Eileen Ziegler, daughter of Mrs. Robert Edwin Ziegler, 283 NE 55th Ter., and the late Mr. Ziegler, to John Robert Bassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. John O. Bassett, Albany, N.Y.
The wedding will take place in Miami Aug. 1.
The bride-elect attended the University of Miami and the University of Florida where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She took graduate work at Columbia University, and now is with Braun and Company in New York.
Her fiancé was graduated from Albany High School and Union College. He served two years in the service and now is with Grey advertising Agency in New York.

John Robert “Jack” Bassett
John Robert "Jack" Bassett, 82, died Nov. 4, 2009, at his home. He was born in Albany, N.Y., and was a winter resident of Vero Beach since 1981, coming from New Canaan, Conn. He became a full-time resident in 1992. Before retirement, he had a career in advertising and marketing in New York City. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jane Bassett of Vero Beach; sons, Peter Bassett of San Francisco and Michael Bassett of New York City; daughter, Wendy Patrick of Minneapolis; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Jeanne. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. services: A private memorial service will be at a later date. John Robert Bassett
John Robert “Jack” Bassett, a former New Canaan resident, died at his home in Vero Beach, Fla., on November 4. He was 82.
Mr. Bassett was born in Albany, N.Y., on October 7, 1927, to Mr. and Mrs. John O. Bassett. After a career in advertising and marketing in New York City, he retired to Vero Beach after living in New Canaan for many years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bassett was predeceased by his twin sister Jeanne.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane; sons Peter of San Francisco, Calif., and Michael of New York City; daughter Wendy Patrick and her husband, Matthew, of Minneapolis, and five grandchildren: Matthew Bassett Mollie Bassett, Reilly Patrick, and Bunny and Lulu Henault-Bassett.
There will be visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
