She was born in Albany, N.Y., and moved to Vero Beach six years ago, coming from Clearwater. She graduated from Albany State Teacher's College in 1949, earning a bachelor's degree in education. Before retirement, she was a senior statistician with the New York State Penal System in Albany for 30 years. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her brother, John R. Bassett of Vero Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Helen Catholic Church, 2000 20th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960. Services: A memorial Mass will be at St. Helen Catholic Church at a later date. Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory in Vero Beach.
