Bassett, Hank - Albert 'Hank' Bassett, 70, of Newark died December 31, 2001 at Rochester General Hospital. Mr. Bassett was born December 24, 1931 in Constableville, NY to Eugene and Anna Tulley Bassett. He worked at Garlock, Inc. for over 40 years where he was a foreman in the powerhouse, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. He was involved in several local organizations. He served as a director of the New Elks Lodge #1249, was Past Commander of the Arcadia Memorial Post #2883 VFW, a member of the August Mauer Post #286, American Legion and the Newark Masonic Lodge #83. He served with the Marines in Korea during the Korean War. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed his hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Emmajean 'Blondie', daughter Michelle (Charles) Clarrett of Newark, two granddaughters Samantha and Ashley; brother, James (Delores) Bassett of West Leyden; three sisters, Elly Menzer of Boonville, June (Charles) Beha of West Leyden, and Maggie (Stanley) Tukoski of Fort Collins, CO; cousins, Gary Healt of Constableville. He was predeceased by his son, Michael, in 1986. Interment in Newark Cemetery.
