AUBURN ? H. Robert "Bob" Knott, 87, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at his home in Auburn.
He was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Auburn to Harry and Mildred (Bassett) Knott. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict from 1950?1953.
He married Marjorie Brown on Oct. 16, 1954, in Angola, and she survives in Auburn.
Mr. Knott worked as a crew dispatcher for the New York Central Railroad, the Pennsylvania Railroad, and then for Penn Central Railroad before retiring in 1989 after more than 33 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion, Ashley Masonic Lodge 614, Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and the Fort Wayne Mizpah Shrine.
Also surviving are a daughter, Vickie (Tom) Laughlin of Hurst, Texas; two sons, Bob (Brenda) Knott of Waterloo and Mark (Becki) Knott of Auburn; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jim Knott of Port Charlotte, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pamela Knott; and a sister, Grace Forney.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with calling from 10-11 a.m. Monday prior to the service. The Rev. Ralph Diehl will officiate Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United States Air Force and American Legion Post 178 of Garett.
Calling also will be from 2?5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a masonic service taking place at 5 p.m.
Memorials are to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the DeKalb County Humane Shelter.
