Alexander Bassett
Alexander Bassett died at his home, 110 Fremont avenue, Wednesday afternoon, following an illness of four years. Mr. Bassett, was born in 1835, in Malden, Canada, coming to Bay City to live thirty-one years ago. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lyman Tucker, Marine City; Mrs. Henry Stephenson,, Mrs. Richard Calcutt, Mrs. George Thibo, and Mrs. Louise Boudrie, all of this city and one son, Frank Bassett also of this city. He is also survived by eight brothers, Michael, Edward, David and Gilbert of Bay City, Joseph and Gregg of Marine City, Vittel of Onstead, Michigan, and Maxim of Omaha, Neb., and by 30 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o?clock at St. Joseph?s church. Burial at St. Patrick?s cemetery.

Alexander Bassett of Fremont avenue, received a message yesterday forenoon announcing the death of his brother, Captain Peter Bassett of Detroit. He left at once for that city to attend the funeral this afternoon.

The funeral of Mrs. Annie Calcutt, who died Thursday, after a short illness, took place yesterday afternoon at the home of Frenk E. Hopkins, on the Bullock road, where she had worked since the death of his wife. She leaves three sons, Lawrence, Ralph and Johnnie Calcutt, a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Bassett, and five sisters and one brother, Frank Bassett, Mrs. Lyman Tucker, of Marine City; Mrs. Josie Stephenson, Mrs. Hattie Calcutt, Nrs. Julia Thibo, Mrs. Carrie Bourdon and Miss Rosie Bassett, all of this city.
