Eunice Bass Kinlaw
ELIZABETHTOWN ? Eunice Bass Kinlaw, 91, died peacefully Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015.
Well known to the community, Eunice and husband, Gordon B. Kinlaw Sr., owned and operated the former Kinlaw Funeral Home. Eunice was predeceased by her husband, Gordon B. Kinlaw Sr., as well as by her parents, Raymond and Sula Bass.
Mrs. Kinlaw was active in the community serving on the Foundation Boards at Bladen Community College and Campbell University. She was a founding member of the local American Business Women's Club and held several elective offices through the years.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20 in the Elizabethtown City Cemetery followed by a visitation/reception in the fellowship hall at Elizabethtown Baptist Church. A graveside service will be officiated by Revs. Warren Hill and Charles Hester. Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn handled the arrangements.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry K. McBeath of Savannah, Ga. and Beverly S. Kinlaw of Wilmington; one son, Gordon B. Kinlaw Jr. and wife, Ann, of Elizabethtown; one brother, Hubert Bass and wife, Nell; five grandchildren, Bradley Kinlaw, Erin Kinlaw, Catherine Wray, Ricky and Kevin Picklesimer; five great-grandchildren, Tianna, Landon, Amber, Max and Kira Picklesimer; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center at either www.LCFH.org or mailed to 1506 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, N.C. 28401.
