Ossie Mae (McBride) Bass, 78, of Pensacola, died Saturday, November 20, 1999 in Baptist Hospital following an extended illness.
Survivors include five sons, Charlie A. Bass, Nathan (Barbara) Bass, Frederick (Laura) Bass, all fo Pensacola, FL, Nathaniel (Mildred) Bass of Flomaton, AL, and Stephen (Sheila) Bass of Orlando, FL; nephew, Johnny McBride of Gary, IN; sister-in-law, Eula Mae Bass of Montgomery, AL; cousin, Lillie Ruth Watson of Jacksonville, FL; sixteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. J.S. Young, Pastor of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery.

Carlton Wade Bass (Carl) - SAVANNAH - Carlton W. Bass, beloved son of Fern and Harry L. Wilson, III, died Monday, March 21, under the care of Hospice Savannah. Carl was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on December 1, 1964. He moved to Savannah with his family in 1969 and attended Chatham County Schools. Carl worked for many years installing residential and business security systems. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Denise Waller in 1998. In addition to his parents, Carl is survived by his soulmate and caregiver, Verdie Louann Davis; sisters Cindi (Ray) Bird of Toledo, Ohio, and Tammy (Larry) Hillner of Pooler, Georgia; Shawn Ramsey, Mark Livingston, Jason, Livingston, Amanda (Bryan) Rowe, Jacob Rowe, Lindsey Davis, Vanessa (Mike) Burns, Tommy Burns, and Kimberly Burns, all of Savannah, Georgia, along with several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. We wish to thank the Hospice Savannah staff for the wonderful care and attention provided for Carl. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. MATTEW WAYNE BASS "MATT-MAN", a resident of Berryville, Arkansas, was born January 28, 1993 in Berryville, Arkansas, a son of Roger Dale Scallion and Denise Wood. He departed this life Tuesday, July 07, 2015 in Metalton, Arkansas, at the age of 22 years.
Matt worked for Tyson Foods.
He is survived by three children, Bradley Michael Bass, Bentley Dale Bass, and Sylas Noah Bass all of Berryville, AR; mother, Denise Wood of Berryville, AR; father, Roger Scallion of Pocahontas, AR; sister, Tristan N. Born in Weirsdale, he was a a citrus and watermelon grower and a Baptist, a trustee of the Stanton First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Florida Farm Bureau; a member of Florida Citrus Mutual; member of Queen Victoria Lodge 50. She was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God. Alene was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Walter E. Bass Sr. Survivors include her 3 children; Walter 'Gene' E. Bass Jr. (Sharon), Yvonne Crissman (Morgan) and Mike Bass (Angie), sister, Peggy Williams, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives. He was born on May 21, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas.
Keith was preceded in death by his mother, Tommie Bass. He is survived by father, Jim Bass; two sisters, Sandy Brown and Jamie McCormick; one brother, Kevin Bass; two daughters, Brandie McNeal and husband Russell, and Tasha Williams and husband Tyren; one son, Keith Bass Jr.; four grandchildren, Isaiah Paulk, Grace Paulk, Kaiden Williams and Elizabeth Williams; and nieces and nephews, Jerad McCormick, Ally McCormick, Jessica McCormick, Sam Newman, Victoria Brown, Colin Smith, Heather Moncrief, Bobby Moncrief, Sharolyn Quinn, and Karen Ungar.

Beverly Ann Sharrow Bass, 78 of Eustis, FL went to be withy the Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2020. Beverly was born on Monday, October 20, 1941 in Pontiac, MI to the late James and Evelyn Foster. In 1992, following hurricane Andrew Beverly moved from Miami, FL to Eustis, FL. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, her Toy poodle Misty and most of all spending time with her family. Beverly was a caring and good-natured woman who was just as sweet as she was stubborn. Those who knew her best would say that she was just like her mother. Beverly was hairdresser for over 50 years and made a lot of lasting relationships during that time. She worked at JCPenney?s in the Lake Port Square mall for 20 years and then moved to Robert and Robert in Mount Dora, where she later retired.
Beverly was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by many.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 9 years: Hugh Bass, Sr. She is survived by her Son: Andrew Sharrow, of Eustis, FL; Daughter: Stacy (Michael) Sharrow Simpson, of Miami, FL; Brother: Roger Bailey, of Auburn Hills, MI; Sister: Patricia Poling, of Lapeer, MI, and Granddaughter: Krysten Sharrow, of Eustis, FL.

After his military career, he worked for Control Data Corporation and Johnson Controls, retiring at 62 years of age. Betty Jean Bass Betty Jean (Abbey) Bass, age 84 of Topeka passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka.
Betty was born March 26, 1934 in Mountain View, Missouri to Carl and Ida Becker Abbey. Betty married Thomas Red Bass on May 9, 1952 in Hardy, Arkansas. After moving to Topeka she attended Potwin Presbyterian Church for over 37 years. Betty provided daycare for over 50 years.
Betty is survived by her husband, Thomas of over 66 years; a son, John (Linda) Bass; daughters, Debbie (Sluggo) Espinoza, Tammie (Chuck) Espinoza; a son in law, Danny Miller; a brother, Joe (Pat) Abbey; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Don, George, Bob and Roy; a sister, Nancy (Abbey) Pruitt; a daughter, Terrie Miller and a son, Ronnie Bass. Betty loved baking, cooking, watching QVC and taking care of her children and her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Marion George Bass, 65, of Weir, died July 17, 2016 at his home.
He was born September 14, 1950 in Pittsburg the son of Albert William and Cora Jane Albertson Bass. He had lived in Weir for the past six years.
He served in the US Army from 1969 to 1970.
George owned and operated a flea market in Cherokee, KS.
Survivors include two daughters Patricia K. Ahrens of South Lyon, Michigan and Georgiana L. Williams of Kansas City, KS, two brothers Bud Bass and Bill Bass both of Kingman Arizona, two sisters Coretta Gideon and Alice Stewart both of Weir, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Charles, William and Jim Bass, one sister Loretta Goodwin and one great-grandson Peyton Michael Harris.
Graveside memorial services will be 10 am Saturday at the Crocker Cemetery with Pastor Jim Fryer of the Independent Bible Baptist Church in Pittsburg, officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Crocker Cemetery.

On November 24, 2019, Thomas Bass, of Lewes, DE, passed away at age 75. Formerly of Hyattsville, MD and Annapolis, MD. He was born on December 7, 1943 to parents Louis and Mary Bass in Cradock, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Lillian Bass, brothers Robert and Michael Bass, children Jeffrey Bass and Christine Middleton, her spouse Thomas Middleton and his grandchildren Shaine, McKinsey, Garrett and Gavin.
Tom was Mayor of Hyattsville from 1979-1995, and a Hyattsville Councilman from 1972-1979. He was President of the Young Men?s Democratic Club of Prince George?s County, President of the Hyattsville, Mt. Rainer-Brentwood Boys & Girls Club, and member of the American Heart Association, Maryland Municipal League, Prince George?s County Municipal Association, and Prince George?s Kiwanis and Jaycees.
He attended Northwestern High School, in Hyattsville, MD class of 1962. Tom and Lillian raised their family in Hyattsville, moved to Annapolis to be near their grandchildren, and then retired to Lewes, DE to be near the beach. Tom was an avid sports enthusiast, cook, Washington Nationals fan, and proud member of Dave?s Sunset Lounge. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be missed immensely by all of his family and friends.

Patsy W. Bass, age 90 and a resident of Long Beach, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.
She was predeceased by her father, Chester Winterstain, Sr.; her mother, Beulah H. Gambuzza; and her brothers, Chester Winterstein, Jr. and William Ray Winterstain.
Patsy is survived by her children, Prudence J. Meadors of Daphne, AL, and Danny Ray Meadors of Long Beach; her nieces and nephews; and her great nieces and nephews.
As a single mother, she worked many years in the hospitality industry.
Patsy was of the Baptist faith and actively served as a Sunday school teacher and vacation bible school volunteer.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 12, 2020, at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, Long Beach, with a visitation from 12:00 PM until the service. Interment will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.

Gerald "Jerry" L. Bass, 77, of Libby died on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Brendan House in Kalispell. He was born on Nov. 11, 1940 in Casper, Wyoming to Marshal and Betty (Coleman) Bass. He grew up and attended school in Sandpoint, Idaho. His family moved to Libby when he was 13.
Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army on Jan. 11, 1962, and he spent time in Germany before he was honorably discharged on Jan. 9, 1964. He went to work for J. Neils Lumber Company and stayed on there for 38 years. He owned two trailer courts in Libby and a laundromat. Jerry enjoyed working and reading. He married Barbara Hume in 1985 in Spokane, Washington.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2016.
Survivors include his siblings Sandra Hutcherson of Salmon, Idaho, and Richard Hunt of Olympia, Washington.

Barbara M. Bass, 72, died on May 26, 2016 at her home in Libby. She was born on December 2, 1943 at Eureka, Montana to William and Lorancy Hume.
Barbara spent most of her life in Lincoln County. She married Gerald Bass September 25, 1985 in Spokane, Washington. They had been married 31 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of The Christian Church and the Church of Christ. She enjoyed going to rummage sales.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Shane Edward Wallace.
Survivors include her 5 children, Kathleen, Ricky, James, Toria and Larry; 2 sisters Lori and husband Ron; Donna and husband Gary; and a brother Freddy and wife Dale; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Born in Troy, October 25, 1988, son of William and Darlene Salvi Bass, Joe was a construction assistant for R M Dalrymple Co. for the last year.
Joe enjoyed fishing, four wheeling and hanging around with his friends. Joe kept himself busy off the job, fixing up his home, and was known as a jack of all trades.
Survivors in addition to his parents include the love of his life partner Candace M. Willsey of Stillwater, his siblings: Bill, Carry, B.J. and Tammy Bass, Angie Tufts and Jennifer Vincent. Also Candace's parents Lance and Sheila Willsey and her brother Curtis Willsey, along with co-workers and friends.

Patsy Bass, 82, of Poughkeepsie, died on Saturday, July 4, 2020 after a long illness. She was born on September 12, 1937, to the late Edward and Evelia McDowell in Port Arthur, TX.
After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School she entered the Army as a nurse's aide stationed in Germany, where unbeknownst to her, met a young soldier named Elvis Presley. Upon returning to the U.S. she worked in various nursing homes and finally as a cook at the Happy Hours Daycare Center in Hopewell Junction.

Bass professed religion 25 years ago at Peachtree meeting house in Nash county, and from that to the time of his death le lived a devoted Christian; charity was his cherishing and embellishing virtue; it was this which poured forth in streams of kindness and benevolence to others, and returned in showers of praise and blessings on himself. His spirit has gone to his heavenly Father?s house, where mansions are prepared for all his children. His body moulders to the dust.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Mack Timberlake Sr. The body was cremated Monday.
Bass is survived by his mother, Mrs. Tessie Winston Bass of the home; three sisters, Md. Deborah Bass of Oxford, Mrs. Emogene Hayes of Los Angeles and Mrs. Janice King of Atlanta; and two brothers, Larry Bass and William Bass, both of Atlanta.

He was the son of the late Gengia Bass and Linwood J. Bass. He was born in Ahoskie, N.C., and was a retired civil service employee. He was the pastor of Olive Branch RZUA Church of Lawrenceville, Va., and also the pastor of Prospect RZUA Church of Brodnax, Va. The Rev. Bass pastored for some 38 years. He formerly was the assistant pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, Chesapeake; pastor of Little Zion RZUA Church, Alberta, Va.; New Hope RZUA Church, Emporia, Va.; St. Timothy Independent Methodist Church, Suffolk; and Mount Zion RZUA Church, Blackstone, Va.
Rev. Bass was an alumnus of Shaw University Theological Seminary and member of Mosonic Order Ministers Alliance of Tidewater and Suffolk.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Lee Bass; a daughter, Carmen Bass; five sons, Linwood Val Bass II, Keith Bass and Derrick Bass, all of Portsmouth, of which Derrick presently resides at the home, Michael Bass of Norfolk and Kevin G. Mr. Bass, age 87, of Charlotte passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Salisbury. He was born January 26, 1924 in Matthews, North Carolina, the oldest son of seven children to the late J. Rea Bass, Sr. and Lola Deese Bass. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Bass, Carson Bass, Edward Bass, Charles Bass and Bill Bass.
Mr. Bass served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a pilot in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. He retired from Cotswold A&P Grocery as store manager after 25 years and later owned a grocery store and self storage facility.
Surviving are his sister, Eleanor Bass Hayes; daughters, Kathey Harter and husband Michael, Lynda Rea Bass and Sherri Thompson and husband Russell; grandchildren, Christopher Rea Nelson and Nicole D. Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Norman Bass, 1720 Phillips ave., died Saturday at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hargett Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bass Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
He was a native of Guilford County and a former employee of Crown Pontiac.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Thelma Bass; sons, Duncan, Donald, Charles, Thomas and James Bass of Greensboro; daughters, Mrs. Joan Moore, Mrs. Denise Garner, Mrs. Carolyhn Tatum and Mrs. Shirley Moore of Greensobro; brothers, Sam Bass of Greensboro, Robert Bass of Newark, N.J.; sister, Mrs. Lucinda McCallum of Greensboro; stepson, Alvis Moore of Reidsville; step-daughter, Mrs. Sabrina Bell of Florida; 13 grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7:30-8 p.m. Monday.

2 In Hospital After Collision
Two women were injured last night in a two-car accident athe intersection of the Levittown Parkway and Newportville-Fallsington Road, Levittown.
Bristol Township police reported the collision at 7:45 p.m. involved cars operated by Shelby Bender, 19, of 27 Morning Glory Lane, Magnolia Hill, Levittown, and Perry Bass, 39, of 822 Glenmar Road, Fairless Hills.
Miss Bender was admitted to Helene Fuld Hospital, Trenton, while Bass? wife, Lillian, 35, was admitted to Delaware Valley Hospital with a cerebral strain and skull injury.
They were transported by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad. Patrolman Joseph Adiran investigated.

Lillian Giannamore of Levittown, Pa. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at her home.
She was a longtime member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon. Throughout her life, she celebrated her strong Christian faith.
Lillian was an avid reader and lifelong learner. She enjoyed her pets, being bossy, gardening, and staying active.
In addition to working with special needs children, she regularly volunteered in the community. Her most recent position was at Inter Faith housing in Bristol.
She was a member of Amaranth Intermediate Unit 22 and the Falls Township Senior Citizens. She also worked at Mercer Medical Center for five years, retiring in 1996.
Lillian is survived by her loving husband, William, with whom she shared 38 blissful years.
She also is survived by a devoted son, Bill, and daughter-in-law, Rita, a loving daughter, Lori; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 3 other children. Some of her happiest times were when she was surrounded by her family.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Hospital of the Women's Humane League, 3839 Richlieu Rd., Bensalem, Pa. 19020 or Northminster Presbyterian Church at the above address.

Gerald 'Jerry' Bass died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at Chandler Hall, Newtown. He was 54.
Born in Bucks County, Jerry had resided in Morrisville, for many years. He was employed by Griffin Pipe for 28 years and had worked for Trenton Iron for five years.
He loved fishing and hunting. He also bowled, and was a past member of the Millcreek Pool Team.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lillian M. Giannamore and Perry Bass Sr.; one brother, Rick; and stepfather, William Giannamore, Jerry leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Sandy (Rowton) Bass. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica; brothers, William Giannamore Jr. and Perry Bass Jr., and sister, Lori Kaye. He also is survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Fairless Hills First United Methodist Church, 840 Trenton Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030, Wednesday, Oct. 5, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. where the service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will be held privately.

DARLINGTON, Feb. 24. Special: Funeral services for Robert Edwin Bass, 50 years old, a native of Darlington county, were held Sunday afternoon at the Bass funeral home in Rock Hill.
Mr. Bass died suddenly in Chadbourn, N.C., at the residence of a son on Saturday morning.
He was born in Darlington, a son of the late James Edwin Bass and Mrs. Marie Howle Bass. He had been residing in Rock Hill for the past 40 years. He was a graduate of Clemson college and for some time he was associated in the furniture and the funeral business with his father.
He had been married twice, his first wife having been the former Miss Alverne Koonce, of Rock Hill. His second wife was the former Miss Verna Swenson, of Lindsburg, Kansas.
Surviving are the widow, his mother, Mrs. J.E. Bass, of Rock Hill; one son, Dr. R.E. Bass, Jr. of Chadbourn; a sister and a brother, Mrs. A.L. Woodcock, of Georgetown, and J.A. Bass, of Rock Hill.

The numerous firneds in this city and vicinity of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin BSs, Jr. of lane?s were shocked and deeply grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Bass which occurred Monday afternoon in a hospital in Kingstree. Mr. and Mrs. basett were married a yaer ago, and went at once to make their home in lane?s. She was before marriage Miss Alverne Koonce, sho with other members of her family had made Rock Hill her home for some years, beloved of everyone. She was graduated from Winthrop college in1919 nad taught successfully until her marriage. Bright and attractive in an unusual degree, this young woman of only 23 years had made for herself an enviable place in the herats of all whose lives toucherd hers, and her loss seems well nigh ireeparable. A tiny son and her husband survived, as do also the following near realtives: her sisters, Mrs. R.H. Viser of Laurel Hill, N. C. Mrs. Roy Barrenand Miss Kathleen Koonce of Rock Hill, and one brother in Arkansas.
Mr. and Mrs. Bass Sr., Sam Watson Barber and the Rev. J.P. Tucker left yesterday evening for Kingstree, and will escort the remains back to Rock Hill. The funeral party will reach here on the 6:20 train, and the remains will be taken to the Bass residence ni Ebenezer. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at the residence, and interment will be in Laurelwood.

Mrs. Norma Faye Daniels Bass, 55, wife of Bobby Bass, went to be with her Lord on the afternoon of Saturday, June 27, 2020 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence after an extended illness.
Faye was born in Mullins on August 28, 1964, a daughter to the late Norman Daniels and the late Bonnie Faye Allen Daniels. She was a front desk clerk at Quality Inn. Mrs. Bass was a member of Open Door Independent Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Bass in addition to her husband of the home are, her Aunts: Barbara Goble of Mullins and JoAnn Rogers of Mullins; her Brother-in-Law, Jim (Tammy) Jackson of Branchville, SC; her Sister-in-Law, Wanda (Joel) Martin of Marion; and her Nieces, April Buie and Ashley McKenzie.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 30 at 3:00 pm at Cedardale Cemetery, with Rev. Eric Caudill officiating. The family will greet friends and well-wishers following the service at the cemetery. Cox-Collins Funeral Home are in charge of the services.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of McLeod Hospice House for their love and care they showed Faye during here time with them.

Jerry Bass
On Monday, July 6, 2020, Jerry Allen Bass, precious child of God, died in the arms of his wife Catherine, surrounded by other beloved family members.
He was born on February 24, 1948 in Dunedin
Florida, adopted at birth by James and Marie Bass. After being tragically orphaned at the age of 16, he was then adopted by his uncle and aunt, Roy and Eleanor Bass. Jerry was immensely proud to be a chosen, adopted member of the Bass family, cherished and deeply loved.
After graduation from Dunedin High School, Jerry enlisted in the US Army and subsequently served in Vietnam as a leader of a reconnaissance squad. He gained the rank of Staff Sergeant while in service. Once discharged, Jerry began a career in construction where he attained the level of master carpenter and project manager in the Clearwater, Florida area.
In 1992, Jerry joined those helping to rebuild south Florida after Hurricane Andrew. He became the Director of Construction for Habitat for Humanity in Miami where he served for 18 years until his retirement in 2010. During his years with Habitat he oversaw the building of over 800 houses so that low income families could have the privilege of home ownership. Jerry was a skilled manager adept at directing volunteers, handling more than 200 a day during most winter and spring months. He established warm and enduring relationships with Habitat homeowners and supporters over the years.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Joshua (Jennifer) and Kyle (Nikki) Bass; brothers, Robert (Christine) and Michael (Andrea) Bass; sister, Cheryl (Robert) Miller; and his precious granddaughters Ashley, Hailey and Greer Bass. Also left to mourn are Catherine's sons, Frank and Evan (Lucy) Shepard, as well as sisters- and brothers-in law, Anne and Alesha, Sam and Teresa, and Joe and Ellen Manning.
The memorial service and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Masks will be required for those who attend.

SANTA FE ? Elvin Bass, 69, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at his home in Santa Fe, Texas. Elvin was born March 27, 1938 to Jordan Bass and Essie Miller in Cayuga, Texas. He was a dedicated volunteer for the Food Pantry in Alvin, Texas for over 10 years. He enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and spending time with his family.
Elvin was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his daughter, Debbie Bass-Garcia. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter Lynn Byrket, and husband Jim, son, Ronnie Bass and wife Laura, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Sara Strong Bass, 81, of Kilgore will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27, at The Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church Longview. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home.
Sara Mae Strong Bass was born September 7, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. Collie B. and Mary Lee Lewis Strong in Gregg County. Both parents preceded her in death. She was the second daughter of 11n children. Three boys and one girl preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two of her children; Anita and Rev. Cedric Strong.
She graduated from North Chapel High School in Kilgore and continued her education at Texas Southern University, Houston, where she graduated with a B.A. degree in Education and received her Master of Education Degree. After college graduation, she entered into her teaching career with the Houston ISD schools, beginning at Booker T. Washington High School and ending her career at Sam Houston High School, where she retired after 35 years as an educator. Sara taught Biology, P E, and Health courses, and was a basketball coach.
Sara Strong Bass was baptized at an early age. She became a member of New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and later Mt.Moriah Baptist Church when she moved to Houston.
Sara Strong Bass leaves to cherish her memories, children Marecia, Marcus, Arleen, Kevin, Kerry (Tina), Kim and Monica; one grandson and three granddaughters and six greatgrandchildren; siblings, Eleanor Jewel Jackson, Imatha Strong Wright (Albert), Estella Strong, Gerry Strong- Samples, Martha Jefferson, Bobby Strong (Nelia); a host of other family and friends.
