    • Mrs. Arnold of Fennville Dies

      Mrs. Marcia Arnold, 46, one of the Fennville?s most beloved and well known citizens, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, following a long illness. She was born Nov. 20, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bassett, and was graduated from the Fennville high school in 1914. She attended Fairmount seminary, Washington, D.C. She was married Oct. 2, 1935, to Clare Arnold.
      During the first World was she was superintendent over 142 clerks in the adjutant general?s office of the United States war department in Washington, D.C.
      Following this the family resided a couple of years in Chicago after which they returned to Fennville where she had resided since. She was a member of the Episcopal church of Allegan, a past president of Allegan county association of OES, past president of the local Woman?s club, past matron of Bethel chapter, OES, and a past grand officer of the grand chapter of Michigan, OES.
      She is survived by her husband and aged mother; also a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ralph Eggers of Fennville, and several distant relatives.
      The funeral was held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the home. The Rev. J. Ethan Allen and Rev. O.W. Carr, officiating. Burial in Fennville.
