Edward Bessette, Area Printer, Dies At Hospital
Edward A. Bessette, 46, of 21 Chestnut Street, Cohoes, a well known area printer, died this morning at the Albany Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Cohoes.
Mr. Bessette learned the printing trade at the Cohoes American Inc., where he was employed for many years. He later worked for the Saratoga Printing Co. at Saratoga Springs and was last employed by The Record Newspapers. He was a member of the International Typographical Union and was a communicant of St. Marie’s Church, Cohoes.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Marion Dunson; two daughters, Mrs. Stephen Kosko and Miss Rose Marie Bessette, all of Cohoes; two sons, Pfc. Edward Donald Bessette, stationed with the Army in Germany and Alfred F. Bessette of Cohoes; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Lecuyer, Mrs. Amedee Veve and Mrs. Rudolph Delude of Cohoes; a brother, Joseph G. Bessette of Venezuela, South America; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Dufresne Funeral Home, 216 Colubia Street, Cohoes, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Marie’s Church, that city, where a requiem mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Bessette of Venzuela, South America.
Funeral Thursday morning at 9 o’clock from the Dufresne Funeral Home, 216 Columbia Street, thence to St. Marie’s Church where at 9:30 a requiem of high mass will be celebrated. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
