In the 1850 census of Hancock County, IL, p. 431 (BYU film #7682) Andrew Bassett was living with his father, Loren Elias Bassett, and step mother, Huldah Dimrus. Andrew was age 14 and born in Ohio. His place of birth was recorded incorrectly by the census taker.
In the 1880 census of Eagle Root & Willow Creek District, Oneida County, Idaho, En. Dist. 27, p.333 (BYU film #1254173) Andrew Bassett was living with the William and Ellen Jackson family. Andrew Bassett was age 42, laborer, born in NY, father born in Conn., & mother born in NY. There were also five other laborers in the Jackson household. This census was taken 5 June 1880.
