Mrs. Horace L. Bassett
Mrs. Anna (Lavigne) Bassett of 15 Carol St., Ludlow, died Monday in Ludlow Hospital after a long illness. Born in Spring Cove, N.Y., daughter of Louise (Jodoin) Lavigne and the late John Lavigne, she had lived in Indian Orchard for several years before moving to Ludlow a year ago. Besides her mother in Springfield and her husband, Horace L. Bassett, she leaves two sons, Donald H. of Springfield and Lawrence E. of Ludlow; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Hebert of Indian Orchard; three brothers, Joseph and Albert of Springfield and Edward of Indian Orchard; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Yelle of Indian Orchard and Mrs. John A. Greene of Baltimore, Md., and six grandchildren. The funeral will be held at the Ratell funeral home Wednesday at 8.15 a.m. with a solemn requiem high mass in St. Aloysius Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. today.
