Allen B. Kline Dies; Headed Spring Firm
Allen Bassett Kline, for nearly 40 years a manufacturer, died yesterday in his home, 1559 Dille Road, Euclid.
In 1923 he founded the Kline Spring Co. He had been its president and a director until his death.
Born in Dundea, N.Y., 77 years ago, he was brought here in 1900. He was a 1907 graduate of Oberlin College.
Mr. Kline was a member of First Presbyterian Church of East Cleveland. Active in the Masonic Order, he was a member of Thatcher Lodge, Lake Erie Consistory, Al Koran Shrine and the Royal Order of Jesters.
Surviving him are his wife, the former Grace Spence of Cleveland; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Wickland; two sons, Spence O. and John A. Kline; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Merle Owen funeral home, 16049 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery.
