Elizabeth V. Bessette
LATHAM, N.Y. – Elizabeth V. Bessette died May 1, 2009. Born in Cohoes, she had lived their most of her life and was the daughter of the late John and Susanah Conners Hogan. She was the wife of the Paul Bessette. She celebrated her birthday March 23, 2009 when she became 100 years old. She had been a homemaker and former member of St. Joseph’s Church, Cohoes and a member of the St. Ann Society. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic War Veterans and was past president of the Albany County Catholich War Veterans Auxiliary. She loved spending time at her summer home in Saratoga. Betty moved to Latham in 1985 and had lived in Our Lady of Hope for several years. She was the sister of Eileen (Gene) Traver and the late Steven, John, James and Joseph Hogan, Marguerite LaVallee, Rose Hogan and Mary Stolar; sister-in-law of Loretta Hogan; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Hope Chapel, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham. Relatives and friends may call at Our Lady of Hope Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. For those who wish may make donations in Mrs. Bessette’s memory to Our Lady of Hope Residence.
