Samuel H. Bassett
CORINTH, Ky., March 15 ? Samuel H. Bassett, 89, retired farmer of the Porter community of Scott county, died this morning at the John Graves Ford memorial hospital, Georgetown, after a long illness. A native of Owen county, he was a son of the late Luke and Jeanett Wilson Bassett and was a member of the Caney Fork Baptist church at Rockdale.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Essie Florence, Dry Ridge; three sons, George Bassett, Sarasota, Fla., and Denver and Sherman Bassett, both of Scott county, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Porter Christian church by the Rev. Orlie Hale. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the home of Denver Bassett Friday afternoon from the Rogers funeral home here.
