He was born to William Walter and Elizabeth (Quinlin) Bessette on November 28, 1932 in Chateaugay, New York. John attended Chateaugay Central High School and then served in the United States Air Force. Upon discharge from the service he returned to Chateaugay and was employed by the Village of Chateaugay. He was a proud member of the Chateaugay Volunteer Fire Department. He then relocated to Florida. He was a long time member of The American Legion Pine Castle Memorial Post 286 in Pine Castle, Fl. He was a Christian and in heaven today. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Elizabeth; brothers, William and Patrick. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 46 years, Joann (Mayo) Bessette of Orlando, Fl; nephews and their wives, Bill and Kitty Bessette of New Rochelle, NY; Bob and Laura Bessette of Chateaugay, NY; Jim and Gale Bessette of Malone, NY; Jerry and Pam Bessette of Burke NY.
