Joy Bassett
Joy Bassett, 62, of Panama City Beach, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 14, 2023.
Joy was born on October 19, 1960 in Vicksburg, Michigan. She was a devoted mother and wife who loved the Lord. She wore many hats in her career, including Licensed Minister and Counselor, Young Living Distributor and Cosmetologist. Joy loved sunsets, swimming and shell collecting, and the beach was her happy place.
She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Bill Leversee; mother, Sara Leversee; Connie Lynn Bassett, Rose Franks and her friend, Rosemary Bowler.
Left to treasure her memory is her husband of 38 years, Douglas Gene Bassett; daughters, Tiffany Chichester (Scott) and Sara Sparrow (Myron); sons, Peter Charles Bassett and Peter Michael Bassett; grandchildren, Kiersten Chichester, Alexandra Chichester, Rylee Sparrow, Quinn Sparrow, Myra Sparrow, Jena Rose Bassett and Tristin Vett Bassett; father, Charles Thomas Franks; sisters, Judy Chamberlain and Lisa Franks Woodward (Bob); brother, John Leversee (Denise); aunt, Carol Fee; niece, Margaret Rendon; nephews, Troy Leversee, Joe Leversee, Aubrey Chamberlain and Billy Mayer, Daryn Snow and Ricky Ketelaar; many great-nieces and nephews; and her pet, Sam.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at 52 Cannon Ball Lane, Wayland, MI. According to her wishes, her ashes will be spread in Panama City Beach at a later date.
