Arthur E. Bessette, 89
MANCHAUG — Manchaug Rd. died Wed. Nov. 16, 2011 after an illness. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Aline R. (Chabot) Bessette; a daughter, Diane Boudreau of Manchaug; 2 sons, Robert D. Bessette and his wife Gail of Warrington, VA and Leo A. Bessette and his wife Nancy of Whitinsville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Doris Soltez of Dayville, CT, Cecile Cusson of Plainfield, CT, Rita Babcock of Danielson, CT and Rose Swatsell of Danielson, CT; and many nephews and nieces. He was brother of the late Ernest Bessette Jr., George Bessette, and Theresa Roy. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law Roger Boudreau. Born in Pawtucket, RI on July 21, 1922 he was the son of Ernest and Leona (Lacroix) Bessette and lived in Manchaug 53 years. Mr. Bessette worked as a truck driver for New England Newspaper Supply Co. in Millbury. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran serving in the Asiatic Pacific theater. According to his wishes funeral services and burial are private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Douglas is directing arrangements.
