Gobles, Michigan Age 85, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2015 from natural causes. Rena enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She spent time volunteering at her church for a variety of functions. Rena was the best Mother in the world and being a homemaker, wife and mother were her greatest accomplishments. This week was to be her and her husband Del's 60th anniversary. Survived by husband Delbert "Del" Bassett; Sons John (Nancy), Doug (Joy); Sister Betty (Alvin) Holmes; Grandchildren: Peter C, Tiffany (Scott) Chichester, Sarah (Myron) Sparrow, Curtis, Jeremy, Peter; Great-grandchildren: Kiersten, Alexandra, Rylee, Quinn, Jenna and Tristan. Rena was preceded in death by son Ben (Kim) and her parents Gerrit and Lizzy Timmer. Services will be held Saturday, March 28th at 11 AM at Kendal United Methodist Church. No viewing will take place. Donations can be made to Kendal United Methodist Women of United Methodist Church.
