Anna Elizabeth Bass
COLUMBUS - Anna Elizabeth Bass, 102, of Columbus, formerly of Walnut, died today, Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at Medicalodge of Columbus after an illness.
She was born March 11, 1904, in Walnut to George B. and Maggie (Preston) Wilson. She graduated from Walnut High School in 1924. She lived in Walnut until 2005.
She married Mason M. Bass Sr. on June 19, 1924, at Walnut Methodist Church. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1999.
She was a housewife.
Survivors include a son, Mason Bass Jr. of Columbus; two daughters, Opal Carson of Mount Home, Ark., and Pauline Wood of Cambria, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mae Mein of Wichita.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Chauncey R. Bass; a sister, Florence Wilson; five brothers, Ed, Ora, George, Floyd and Glenn Wilson; and a great-grandson.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Walnut Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus before going to the cemetery.
