  Notes	Evansville Courier and Press, Indiana, Saturday, 12 January 1963 John Bassett Services for John Lowrey Bassett, 76, of 2006 South New York Avenue, who died at 4:10 a.m. Friday at Deaconess Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Johann Funeral Home. Bassett, who had resided in Evansville for 35 years, was a trucker here about 15 years, retiring in 1958. A native of Calhoun, Ky., he came to Evansville from Smith Mills, Ky. He was a member of St. James Evangelical United Brethren Church here. Surviving are his wife, Dorcas; four sons, George Bassett of Manchester Mo., Henry L. and Gene Bassett, both of Evansville, and the Rev. John C. Bassett, pastor of Morganfield, Ky. Methodist Church; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Murphy of Evansville; a sister, Mrs. Emma Graham of Toledo, O.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Smith Mills, Ky. Cemetery.
