Lafe Bassett, 74, died at his home in Calhoun Wednesday afternoon following a lingering illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Bassett; two sons, Enmon Bassett of Evansville and Charles Bassett of Calhoun; one daughter, Mrs. Ella Cauley, of Calhoun; two brothers, A.C. Bassett of Calhoun and J.L. Bassett of Evansville; two sisters, Mrs. T. L. Brooks of Central City and Mrs. E.M. Graham of Belton.
