Simone Bessette Becomes Engaged
To Marry James Boyle On Labor Day
Mr. and Mrs. Armand Bessette of Sipley Ave., West Springfield, announce the engagement of their daughter, Simone Laura, to James Boyle, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Boyle of White St. The wedding will take palce Labor Day at 9 in St. Louis Church, West Springfield.
Miss Bessette attended school in West Springfield and is employed by Gilbert & Barker Mfg. Co.
Mr. Boyle was graduated from Cathedral High School and served during World War II in the Third Marine Division. He is associated with New England Matchplate Co., West Hartford.

Simone Boyle WETHERSFIELD Simone (Bessette) Boyle of Wethersfield died Monday, February 25, 2008. She was the wife of James Boyle. Daughter of the late Armand and Augustine (Gagnon) Bessette, Marie Laura Simone Bessette was born on August 30, 1922 in Farnham, Providence of Quebec, Canada. She came to the U.S, at a young age and was raised in West Springfield, Ma. Simone met her husband, Jim, at a New Year's Eve party and they were wed on September 6, 1954. They moved to Wethersfield the same year. She loved to be outdoors, either working in her garden or just sitting in the sun. Simone worked at Hart Seed Co. in Wethersfield for many years and then for People's Bank. Family was very important, and simone was happiest spending time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed her monthly "senior gatherings" with her siblings and cousins, the extended family Memorial Day picnics and Saturday night dinners with daughter Lisa and family, the annual St. Patrick's Day dinner and New Years Day gathering for "tourtiere" Simone had a wonderful sense of humor "Farrah Bessette" and she loved to sew and fix things for her family. She was a communicant of the Church of the Incarnation and sang alto in the church choir for many years. She and Jim were active in the Wethersfield Square Dancing Club and traveled to Japan and Korea with the club. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim, her son, Larry and his wife Kathy Boyle of Vernon, her daughter Lisa and husband Peter Griswold of Rocky Hill, daughter Laura and her husband Chuck Comolli of Manchester. She was "Memere" to her nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, Erin and Megan Boyle, Kristen, Lauren and Chelsea Griswold and Matthew and Jillian Comolli. She is also survived by her brother, George and his wife Gay Bessette of West Springfield, Ma. She leaves her sister-in-law, Mary Meagher of Springfield, Ma., many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially Pauline Lautenbach of Manchester and Rene Jarry and his wife, Mary Ann of Agawam, Ma. Her sister and brother-in-law, Claire and Raymond Wellspeak of West Springfield, Ma. and an infant brother predeceased her. Funeral services will take place 11:00 am on Friday February 29th from the Rose Hill Funeral Home, to the Church of the Incarnation for a mass of Christian burial at 12 noon. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours are Thursday February 28th, 4-8pm at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. The family wishes to thank the Rocky Hill Da Vita Dialysis Center for their exceptional care of Simone these past few years. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. We ask that flowers come from Terri Krisavage Floral Design in Rocky Hill where 3 of her granddaughters work.
