Scottsville, was born in Floyd County, Ind., February 11, 1846. Removed to Wayne County, Iowa. In 1865 to Decatur County; thence to Mitchell County, Kan., in 1872 and took a homestead April 12, 1872, and is now the owner of 240 acres of land. He has held the office of Township Trustee and took the census of Lulu and Asherville Townships in 1880. Mr. McCutchan is a leading member of the Christian Church. He was married March 01, 1871, in Decatur County, Iowa, to Miss Fannie R. Bassett .They have four children - Cora, born February 24, 1874, Edgar H., born July 30, 1876, Frank L., July 29, 1879, and Annie E., March 13, 1882.
