Mrs. Elizabeth L. Nave, an invalid for the past sixteen years, died Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o?clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Elliott, north of this city, in Marion township. her death was caused by pneumonia, from which she had suffered for several days. Funeral services will be held at the late home, Monday morning at 11 o?clock, the Rev. Owen Livengood, pastor of the First Christian church officiating. Burial will be made in the Marion cemetery n charge of Ralph J. Edwards, funeral director.
For the past sixteen years, Mrs. Nave had been an invalid, and although subjected to great suffering, always retained the sweet and cheerful disposition which had been a part of her life. She was born in Shelby county, Dec. 17, 1846, and at the time of death, was seventy-six years old. Since birth, she had been a resident of this county and was a lovable woman, held in the highest esteem by her multitude of friends in this and adjoining counties. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Bassett, prominent pioneers of Shelby county and on Nov. 27, 1867, was united in marriage with the late Nathan L. Nave. To this union, six children were born, two of whom survive, Anna A. Elliott, at whose home she died, and George Nave, both of Marion township. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Hines and Mrs. Nancy Tindall, three brothers, Willia, James and Sylvester Bassett, all of Shelby county, and three grandchildren.
